I am Angel Zavala, a 7th-grade ELA teacher who places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. I encourage my students to become independent readers and writers, while also fostering a love of literature and language. In my classroom, I focus on hands-on, project-based learning experiences that are engaging and meaningful for my students.

In my teaching, I make use of technology, including iReady, to help my students develop their digital literacy and technical skills, and provide them with access to a wide range of resources and learning materials. Additionally, I place a strong emphasis on formative assessment, using regular assessments and feedback to guide students' learning and ensure they are on track to meet their goals.

My approach to teaching combines academic rigor with a supportive and inclusive classroom culture, making me an excellent educator for students of all backgrounds and abilities. I am dedicated to helping each of my students reach their full potential and succeed in their academic and personal goals.
